JRI Orthopaedics delivers another successful educational webinar
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on face to face conferences and courses, like many other Yorkshire businesses, JRI has found new ways to support clinical education.
November’s webinar on Osteochondral Regeneration, hosted by Clockwork Medical, attracted over 500 registered delegates from all over the world, with 270 healthcare professionals attending the live broadcast.
Consultant surgeons Mr Andrew Edwards and Professor Matej Drobvnic delivered engaging presentations on the treatment of cartilage defects in the knee with a novel biomimetic 3D matrix, MaioRegen.
Andrew Edwards, who practises in the North Lincolnshire and Goole region, advised on the key surgical factors for successful joint surface reconstruction with MaioRegen, using either a manual or instrumented approach with a Mini-Arthrotomy set.
Matej Drobvnic, Associate Professor at the University Medical Centre of Ljubljana, identified the ideal candidates for this type of treatment and described his technique for complex cases.
With 94% of attendees surveyed saying they are now more confident in identifying suitable patients for this treatment option, and 98% saying it has helped them better understand the surgical techniques, JRI will continue to offer high quality educational webinars throughout 2021.
